ARCHIVED - Ketch Harbour
At Ketch Harbour, NRC operates its Marine Research Station with the goal of helping to heal and fuel Canada and the world. In this coastal community, located approximately 30 minutes from Halifax, federal researchers cultivate and study seaweeds and microalgae under controlled environmental conditions at lab- and pilot-scale levels. The research focus is on locally abundant species, particularly those that are commercially relevant and are rich in bioactive compounds.
